Check out this interview and photo gallery of Jennifer Lawrence featured in W Magazine’s October issue…. Like many of you who have read The Hunger Games trilogy, I’m sure you cant wait to see what the upcoming films have in store. If they are anything like the styling of the first film, you know that over the top designs will reign. We have a feeling that feathers will play a key role when constructing Katniss Everdeen’s Catching Fire ensembles….Just look at the feather styled portraits! Photographs by Tim Walker and Styled by Jacob K.

Spring/Summer 2013: Stay Fashionable with Feathers!

by The Feather Place NYC on September 12, 2012

Fashion Week in NYC has been going full force for the past few days, so we thought it was only fair to share next season’s hottest feather styles with you! We love the energy the city has during this time, and the Spring/Summer 2013 looks are making us impatient for the fall and winter to be through. For next season think Ostrich feathers, with a twist!

Above are four looks by Prabal Gurung, starting with just a hint of white on white ostrich feathers, to full blown dramatic summer dresses with multi-colored dimensions.

Christian Siriano’s white hot looks above use ostrich feathers in unexpected places.

Chado Ralph Rucci went for full blown color and created some major volume with the addition of bright and black ostrich feathers.

Above left is a feathered look from Oscar de la Renta in one of our new favorite colors, Very Berry! Above right is a carnival inspired look by Farah Angsana, which incorporates a type of braided ostrich fringe to this exciting dress.

Light blue ostrich feathers add softness to this layered look by Donna Karan, while black ostrich adds a bit of edginess to this Escada jacket.

Erin Fetherston’s girly looks above are perfect for a night out!

Last, but not least, are Wes Gordon’s moody outfits for the spring season. The designer used short black rooster coque to create a darkly romantic 3-dimensional look.

If you want to get a head start on next season’s fashion looks, go to the for all your feather needs!
