Allison Williams in Feathers at the Golden Globes

As many of you know last night was the Golden Globe’s Awards and we loved checking out the Red Carpet fashion! Allison Williams, a star from one of our favorite TV shows Girls on HBO, stunned in a form fitting Alexander McQueen gown featuring a feather bodice. The black and white feathers gave this understated look a great graphic pop!

You can use our Lady Amherst Pheasant Fringe in natural white and black to DIY your own fabulous look!

We took a trip to the Brooklyn Museum to check out the Jean Paul Gaultier retrospective exhibit and we were blown away! Who knew that the ground breaking designer, who dressed icons like Madonna, loves feathers as much as we do? Above are two of our favorite looks from JPG’s many years in the fashion business, featuring feather boas galore and a couture Indian headdress. Jean Paul Gaultier’s pieces are more like art, so we included lots of detail shots so you can really see the intricate designs and varied uses of feathers!

Above the designer used small Natural Pheasant Feathers to create intricate patterns.

These fierce boots were made completely of feathers!

Remember feather hair extensions? These grizzly chinchilla feathers were also used to create this stunning  dress.

The designer made his own leopard print using Rooster Coque feathers!

His vision went punk with Ostrich feathers on denim and a Marabou Feather Vest. Get the look with our collared feather shrug here!

Last but not least is our favorite! This gown with Ostrich Fringe has been worn by many celebrities and is so classic we never see it going out of style.
