DIY Pheasant Feather Trimmed Mirror

DIY Pheasant Feather Trimmed Mirror Décor. In no time at all your space can go from drab to fab; revamping your mantle and giving it new life this fall. Decorating with pheasant feathers never looked so good!

Step 1:  First trace the round mirrors with your Dressmakers White Chalk Pencil and cut the shape out with your scissors. You will want to make two of these round cut mats; one for each of the Pheasant Feather styles.

Pheasant Feather Trimmed Mirror Step 1

Step 2: Select your first set of feathers and organize them to your liking around the first piece of felt. Begin to glue them down one by one until finished. Continue and go on to the next feather mat.

Step 3: Stack the two feather mats on top of one another and glue them together in the center. Next, generously glue the round mirror to the center of the two feather mats.

Allow to dry overnight.

Step 4: Grab your Natural Twine or Cording of choice and braid enough to go round the circumference of mirror.  Continue and glue the braided cord around the mirror. Once done, cut the excess cord and glue.

Pheasant Feather Trimmed Mirror Step 4

Step 5: Cut a small 2×1” piece of felt and center the large paperclip at the top, back of the mirror. Glue the felt over ½ of the paperclip leaving the other half exposed to be used as a hanger.

Allow to dry overnight before hanging up.

Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children

Burton described Eva Green’s character Miss Peregrine, the headmistress of the peculiar orphanage, as a “weird Mary Poppins like character — a strong and mysterious person who looks like she could turn into a bird. That’s Eva.” – www.moviepilot.com

Pencil Cover

Back to School Feather Topped Pencils – The perfect end of summer craft project for kids. Decorating their school pencils with colorful and fluffy feathers. We have step by step instructions below for this affordable craft idea. Kids will have fun making these adorable feather topped pencils and fun showing off their artwork when they return to school!
Feather Materials
Feather Green Circle  Pencil

Feather Green Circle  Washi or Other Decorative Tape

Feather Green Circle  White Glue

Feather Green Circle  Glitter

Feather Green Circle  Strung Feathers

Feather Green Circle  Hot Glue

Feather Directions

pencil step 1

STEP 1. Wrap the pencil in a fun and colorful tape. There are lots of great washi tapes available— like this glitter one we are using!

pencil step 2

STEP 2. Cut a short length of strung feather (about and inch will do) and hot glue it around the eraser of the pencil. If you have loose feathers on hand, those can be glued on individually for the same effect, but with a bit more effort.

pencil step 3

STEP 3. Wrap more tape around the base of the feathers to cover the string parts.

pencil step 4

STEP 4. Dab a layer of white glue around base of the feather (we went down about an inch) and apply glitter.

pencil step 5

STEP 5. Sharpen your pencil and get going! This pencil is good for taking diligent class notes, composing compelling essays, and (of course) the occasional doodle!
