Known for working with the likes of Christian Louboutin and Jean Paul Gaultier ; Julien Vermeulen is known as one of Paris’ top plumassier ! We came across his bio in the NY Times and knew we needed to share his story!

“His apprenticeships included time with Christian Louboutin and with Jean Paul Gaultier — “who loves feathers” — where he met the legendary plumassier Dominique Pillard. “He made a Gaultier fur using recolored chicken feathers disguised as leopard,” Mr. Vermeulen said. “I thought if one could do leopard with feathers, one could do anything with them…Vermeulen also worked at the historic feather atelier Lemarié, now owned by Chanel ” – NY Times
