These are by far our favorite feathered Looks from Ralph & Russo’s Paris Haute Couture Show last week! Founded in 2007 by Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo, it became the first British brand in over 100 years to be selected for Paris Haute Couture Week and we can see why. We especially love how Ralph & Russo use an abundance of Burnt Ostrich Fringe  culminating to the grand finally with Alessandra Ambrosio in a magical White Ostrich Feathered Cape! Ralph & Russo's Paris Haute Couture Show Ralph & Russo's Paris Haute Couture Show Ralph & Russo's Paris Haute Couture Show

The Look of Love | Ursula Andress in Casino Royale

We recently watched the film Casino Royale and couldn’t believe the amount of feathers that were used in the costume designs. From Natural White Coque Tails to luxurious Ostrich Floss and Boas; Ursula Andress as Vesper Lynd embodies the Look of Love in the ultimate spy spoof of all time; Casino Royale 1967 .

Fashion Week SS16 Feather Round Up

Fashion Week SS16 Feather Round Up

Fashion Week SS16 feather round up was difficult for me to pick my favorite designers.  There was a mixture of unique feathered garments to admire… But if we have to pick a favorite collection I would have to go with Sophie Theallett.  She mixed sexy silhouette with a powerful slim fit golden suit embellished with bleached rooster coque tails that add a little drama. Sophie Theallet also uses goose biots in her collection, it adds little edge to a cocktail dress. You can clearly  see her love for Africa in this fun and energetic spring line up.

Comme Des Garcons, YDE, Givenchy and Nina Ricci favored ostrich in their spring lineup. Ostrich feathers always adds a feminine touch with a glamorous flow to a dress or gown. YDE mini dress is sassy with an elegant flow using ostrich fringe. Comme Des Garcons is very advant garde with ostrich feathers you see the influence of Bjorks Biophila tour, in my option which I love! Valentino used peacock flue in their African inspired collection of dresses crafted with color bands of raffia or the pleated goddess gowns, with peacock collars inspired by modern day Nubian queen. It just goes to show that you can always use feathers in any season for in any collection or influences.

The Feather Place Collars

Fall is here which means longer sleeves and warmer options, and what better way to stay stylish and warm than a feather collar? Our new line has hit our showrooms and website and we have to say that they make a perfect cool weather addition! Above left is our Chandelle Collar (available in multiple colors) and right is our Rooster Coque Collar that is sure to turn heads!

Another great way to add feathered flair to your autumn wardrobe is a fun DIY idea that we found on yesstyle.com. The steps are simple to create a romantic collar, all you need are scissors, needle & thread, ribbon, and ostrich feather fringe! We have a variety of colors and styles of fringe that you can see here. Check out the final product and detailed steps below:

Ostrich Feather Collar

Use about 17 inches of ostrich feather fringe or measure your neck with a button-down on for best fit.

DIY COLLAR1

Then simply singe ends of satin ribbon with a lighter to keep them from fraying and stitch on either end of your feather fringe with needle and thread.

Kate Bosworth attends the "Schiaparelli And Prada: Impossible Conversations" Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 7, 2012 in New York City.

Purple feathers were all the rage yesterday at The Met Gala in New York City! Check out these feathered leading ladies and tell us which one you think wore her feathers best! I have to say that while Beyonce looked spectacular in her black and purple ostrich trimmed gown by Givenchy and Diane Kruger in a regal ostrich trimmed gown by Prada, my vote goes to Kate Bosworth’s cocktail mini also by  Prada who’s feathers were actually a mix of burgundy and navy plumes! Flirty, yet sophisticated!
