Wedding traditions of our ancestors : Feather Headdresses

by Cristina Muñoz Brown on July 17, 2012

Bellisimo! This traditional marriage ceremony took place in the Huasteca Canyon of  Monterrey, Mexico and was a fusion of two different traditions; the traditional Mexican ceremony called “Amarre de tilmas” and a similar traditional  ” Tie” ceremony by the Lakota Indians of the Northern United States.

Looking at these photos by Alex Aguirre reminds me of my Mexican culture and our ancestors rich traditions. I love all of the colorful feather headdresses, Danza and textures…making this one of the most culturally meaningful and beautiful themed wedding I’ve seen!
